It All Started with a Milkshake

I can’t believe we’re mid-April already and I love how that spring energy starts to seep in. Perfect timing to share a bit about how I put together my collections.

So here's how it usually starts for me. I dive into trend research, save a million pictures, sort them roughly by colour and vibe, and just… let things marinate. I move them around, match them up, move them around some more. 

Marinate again. 

Then, at some point (and I can never fully explain when or why) some of those pictures start calling me and I can’t seem to let them go. Slowly they cuddle together into a moodboard. Ditching and adding pics as I go. This is the part I absolutely love, crafting stories and moods using images and colours. It’s like stepping into a world that yet has to be discovered. Like a movie you’re about to start. 

With Diva Dog Diner it happened fast. Clearly I’m having a milkshake moment. And a dog moment. Ahhhh, noooo, who am I kidding! I’m always having pet moments! Especially dressed up in oversized sunglasses and handkerchiefs😆 Together with retro americana diners dripping in neon they’re like the perfect polyamory (like whattt?) But suddenly it all makes sense;

The colours alone make me slide into my happy place. And now I'm in deep; the milkshake allover pattern is done and listed (link below!) I've been fiddling around in Illustrator with lettering and quote art, and I've got printable items like gift wrap, gift tags, a little A5 card and printable gift boxes in the pipeline, and I CANNOT wait to share them with you.
