Slowly waking up in the studio

My sketchbooks have been mostly closed for a few months. Not in one of those "I'm never gonna draw again" rants, just… resting on the shelf while life was 'lifeing'. And lately, without really planning it, I've been eyeing them again.

It's been a small start. A doodle here. Testing colours there. Creating a moodboard. Rummaging through a stack of pencils I forgot I had. The studio's been quiet, and now it's slowly waking up.

It's just like March, it kinda feels the same doesn't it? Not quite spring, but you can feel something bubbling. The light changes, ideas start creeping in, and suddenly you're picking up a pencil and you're not even overthinking it.

I've been thinking about those first little milkshake sketches after this pause; how fun and lighthearted those should be. How starting small is actually perfect as it gently guides you to where you want to be.

If your creativity's been taking a nap too, this is your gentle invitation to wiggle your fingers and see what happens. No expectations, just cute little beginnings.

Here's to art slowly waking up again ✨
